Saint Mary's Hospital
St. Mary's Hospital is a fake brand I created for myself. Due to my artistic inclinations and patience, I am often the person in my family that people come to when they need something taken up a little or to have a hole patched. In recent years, this has mostly turned into the repair of stuffed animals and such from my niece and nephews. The increase in stuffy stitchings, added with the fact that my niece, Grace, likes to pretend to be a nurse, has led to me being nicknamed this brand as a joke. If the "patient" cannot be fixed by Grace, then they are sent for a stay at my "hospital" where I can perform a more serious "procedure."
All of the "surgeries" listed are things I have actually had to fix. It wasn't until the start of this project that I had the idea to come up with puns or twist the names a little so they fit the kind of patients I operate on. The clean and simple nature of the designs, as well as the color choices, are all inspired by actual hospital logos and colors seen within a hospital (scrubs, disposable gloves, etc.). The fonts and other illustrative details were inspired by children's toys as well and my own sewing projects over the years (in other words, the stitching isn't always clean).
